The International Space Station makes a few nicely visible passes in the coming few days. Here’s one from Sunday morning. The morning sky was getting quite bright, but the enormous ISS is such a prominent object.
Up early today to watch a bit of the “Rally to Restore Sanity” and then off to town for the swap meet, breakfast and a few items for the returns desk.
With Laurel all tied up in grandma and other mainland duties, I’ve been put in charge of flowers. Scary thought! Anyway, here’s my amateur attempt at arranging today’s catch.

Up early for an ISS pass and this month’s last setting of the moon in a waxing gibbous phase (just before it’s full). It’s always my favorite moonset because the sky is still quite dark, but the disk is almost full. ISS pass was at 5:05 and well before sunrise, so the period of visibility was quite short–so short, I that missed it. The clouds cooperated, so I did get to track the moon until it disapeared behind Lanai. Beautiful way to start the day.
